Some local arrangements are in place for our partner institutions - please ask at your local library.

Staff are not charged fines unless they have borrowed University of West Scotland (UWS) items in which case the normal rate of fines is applied. Please note that this is a matter between the member of staff and UWS, and SRUC library will not intervene on the staff's behalf.

Edinburgh University Staff and Students

The Edinburgh University and SRUC libraries offer a reciprocal borrowing scheme that allows students and staff to access and borrow material from Edinburgh University libraries.

Students and staff registered at SRUC may apply for external membership of the University by completing an application form - available from staff in the SRUC Edinburgh library. You will need a valid student or staff ID card to accompany your form in order to register.

SRUC borrowers may be able to borrow up to 5 items from any of the Universities participating library sites. University class and departmentmental libraries are not included, and external membership does not include access to e-resources or use of the PCs. You are, however, able to use the Eduroam wi-fi network.

For further information, see the 'Edinburgh University Library' website (link below).

Edinburgh University staff and students may borrow up to 5 items from SRUC Edinburgh library. Short loan (3 hours) items are excluded.

UWS Staff and Students

SRUC staff and students may borrow printed materials owned by UWS but not necessarily housed in the shared campus library (subject to local restrictions).
